boost boost booost boost, hi. |
With flarf now finishing its first decade of prominence, the sub-genre of the avant-garde has had time to develop its own sub-genres. One of these appears to be the uniquely facebook flarf as practiced by Steve Roggenbuck and others. Steve Roggenbuck has given his thoughts on flarf in general, but it’s his facebook implementation that is particularly interesting.
While Roggenbuckesque facebook flarf displays many of the attributes of flarf as a whole, what makes it distinct is the use of facebook’s own infrastructure to accomplish the broader surrealist and subversive goals of flarf. I refer here to the use of tagging one’s “likes” in facebook communications.
hehehe
Steve Roggenbuck May Day Celebration Spectacular
May Day celebrates the power labor possesses across the world. Some people decide not to participate in the labor market. Out of the billions of people on Earth a few rise above what the market wants them to do. Steve Roggenbuck is one of those people. He works at the best job ever, of enjoying his life with a couple of cool cats in Tacoma, Washington. We Love Cats More Than You and Saxifrage host Steve during his time in this very alt city. It is alt even by Pacific Northwest standards.
James Ganas wants to steal my ass and put it in his garage. He started out the poetry reading. I liked his reading. I feel bad he doesn’t reciprocate oral sex. Guess that’s why he has a freezer full of sperm. He’s a 33 year old virgin and prefers anonymous sex. Anonymous sex is also known as ‘cyber life’. I miss cyber life sometimes. God help me I am in a mouse costume at the local Chuck-E-Cheese is probably the best line out of all his poems. I dig his delivery too. It is a lot of fun to hear, he has a lot of energy. His reading of Megan Boyle’s book is amazing as well.
Jakob Maier talks about his ‘poetry project’. I think the poetry project thing happened last month. I’m not sure. I didn’t take part in it. Or did I? My poetry projects are as mysterious as my IRL presence and online presence. I am mysterious in any form. Jakob reads his poems about his farts sounding better. They are beautiful poems. He reads the amazing YouTube comments from his sarcastic YouTube videos. Love these poems quite a bit. Jakob is proud of his mouth fart noises.
Steve Roggenbuck is the third and final reader of the enlightened evening. They realize he is amazing. He riffs on the audience for a while. Then he is right in the heat of those poems. Most of the poems veer towards the goofy side of things. Peter is a lucky bro on the internet. It is a rare reading. Justin Bieber comes up in the reading in a truly sensual, borderline erotic manner. I’m just kidding. Anything with Justin Bieber is pure eroticism.
‘I’m sorry I like you better than everything’ is a wonderful poem. This is one of the best poems Steve’s written for a long time. It is truly inspirational poem. Do not overdose on swag. Swag hurts. Feel bad that Heather only has one story. Steve has this one short story that’s amazing. ‘Goddamn that’s a bomb’ is the best line in the English language. Glad Heather is so chill. Feel bad somebody drops a Reese’s Pieces in a library. If somebody drops a piece of candy in a library and no one is around to eat it, does it get devoured by rats later? I think the answer is ‘hells yeah’.
It ends with Steve reciting the ‘666’ over and over again. For Satan digs a good Spreecast. Some say Satan lives in Tacoma as an unassuming asshole. I hope that’s true. If true I hope Satan truly enjoys alt lit readings.
a new craze is spreadeing like wild fire across this countrey.. it is where you pretend that your a dingo :D :D
